A special Communication was held at 2-15 P.M. with an attendance of 200 for the purpose of conducting the funeral services of Bro. George Sherman Bassett who had served the Lodge as Treasurer for 30 years. His remains arrived in the lodge room at 3 o'clock, at 3:30 the services was announced. The records say "after the friends and Brothers had viewed the pleasant face of our deceased brother a procession was formed and escorted the remains to Forestdale Cemetery where they were laid away with full Masonic honors in accordance with his request and we trust he is now receiving his reward of the eternal rest in the Grand Lodge above which he has so well earned."
