Twelve Master Masons, with Wor. Bro. Robert Gillette as head of the petitioners asked the approval of the Lodge for a dispensation to form a new lodge in Holyoke. Upon vote of the Lodge the petition was approved. This petition was for Mount Nonotuck Lodge of which Wor. Brother Robert Gillette became the first Master.

Laying the Corner Stone of the New Temple. The following. is copied verbatim from the records of the Lodge: A special communication was held in Masonic. Hall Sept.11, 1920 and opened on the degree of M. M. at 1:40 P. M. Attendance at opening 160. This special communication was called for the purpose of attending the laying of the Corner Stone of our new Temple. After the Lodge had been opened in due form, and the. dispensation authorizing us to form in public procession read, the Most Worshipful Grand Master, Arthur D. prince was escorted into the Lodge and introduced by Wor. Bro. George Barnett. Acknowledging most feelingly the hearty welcome extended by Wor. Master Robert W. Hunter, he assumed the East. A procession was formed and we repaired to Elm Street where we were joined by three hundred and fifty more members. Taking our position in the parade, in which 4200 Masons participated representing Lodges from all the surrounding cities and towns, proceeded to the Temple where the impressive ceremonies of the laying of the Corner Stone were conducted by the Grand Officers. At the conclusion of the ceremonies, the brethren repaired to the Second Baptist Church where refreshments were served. Returning at 5:45 the Lodge was closed in form. About five hundred Masons attended the banquet at Hotel Nonotuck in the evening in honor of the Most Wor. Grand Master and officers" The events of this day were not, of course, exclusively Mount Tom's but belonged to all of Holyoke Masonry for all bodies had contributed interest, time and money to this, the realization of the dream of years and a more complete description of the doings of this eventful day is given elsewhere as copied from the Records of the Grand Ledge.

Nov. 5, 1920
Voted that the $1000.00 note given by the Masonic Bldg. Ass'n. for the Lodge furniture when the Association took over the management of the Lodge rooms be exchanged for stock of the said Association if agreeable to the Directors.

Dec. 3, 1920
Voted to buy additional stock in the Holyoke Masonic Assn. to the full amount now in the Building Fund.
