Mount Tom Lodge

Aug. 5, 1921
The first regular communication of Mt. Tom was held in the auditorium of the new Temple. The Lodge rooms were not completed and could not be used.

Oct. 22, 1921
Dedication of new Temple. Special Communication at 2:40 P.M. Attendance 485. The following is taken from the records: "The Wor. Master appointed Wor. Bro. D. W. Williamson, Bros. Eugene Chapman and Willis M. Fleming (building committee), Wor Bros. J. E. Bronson, R. H. Morrill, Robert Gillette and Chas. H. Smith as a committee to escort Most Worshipful Arthur D. Prince and suite into the Lodge Room. After a hearty welcome by Wor. Master David Coutts, the Grand Master assumed the East and the Grand Officers their respective stations as follows: -- R. W. Claude L. Allen, Dep. Master; R. W. Frank E. Swain, Sr. G. W.; R. W. William Ridings, Jr. G. W.; R. W. Chas. H. Ramsay, G. Treas.; R. W. Fred'k. W. Hamilton, G. Sec'y.; Rev. Edw. A. Horton, G. Chap.; R. W. Frank W.Dobson, G. Mar."

"The Temple was then dedicated by the Most Worshipful Grand Master and officers in due and ancient form which was most impressive." "At the conclusion of the dedication exercises, the Brethren greatly enjoyed an address by the M. W. Gr. Master, followed by most interesting remarks by D. G. M. Claude L. Allen; R. W. Fred'k. W. Hamilton and the Grand Chaplain, Rev. Bro. Edwin A. Horton."

"A reception to the Grand Officers and inspection of the Temple consumed the time until six o'clock, when a banquet was served by the Ladies of the Eastern Star to about four hundred of the Brethren, in the auditorium, followed by speeches from several of the Grand Officers."

Nov. 4, 1921
Voted that "the Building Fund be discontinued as the Temple is now a reality and there being no further use of such a fund." The Treasurer's report at this time (the annual meeting) shows the Lodge with an investment of $14,290.00 in stock of the Association.

Nov. 11, 1921
Rt. Wor. A. A. Brooks, D. D. G. Master made his Official Visit. The attendance was given as 480. The attendance figure shows how much the members appreciated this honor having been bestowed upon one of its members and how deep a place brother Brooks had come to hold in their hearts.
