Holyoke High School — Class of 1945

ALFREDA DANEK During her Senior year, "Alphi" transferred to Holyoke High from Bridgeport Central High. Her favorite pastimes are music, reading, singing, and listening to operas. She enjoys many sports, such as swimming, badminton, and ice skating. After graduation, "Alphi" plans to attend the New England Conservatory of Music, and from there, she hopes to advance to the Metropolitan Opera. |

HILDA R. DEGRAFF Hilda entered Holyoke High as a graduate of the Joseph Metcalf School. During her three years with us, she has been a faithful member of the Rooters' Club. She also attended most of our school football, basketball, and baseball games. As a pastime, Hilda enjoys playing the piano. She is planning to attend business school next year. |

SHIRLEY R. DESAUTELS "Shirl" graduated from H. B. Lawrence Junior High School before coming to Holyoke High. She held membership in the Dramatic Club and was an enthusiastic member of the Rooters' Club. Shirley enjoys sports, especially skating and bowling, and she loves to dance. Music is her hobby and she sings beautifully. Shirley studied the Commercial Course and intends to make office work her future. |

LEOPOLD S. DESMARAIS "Boley" entered from Lawrence Junior High School. He is taking the General Course and is a baseball and basketball enthusiast. He is a member of our football team, A Capella Choir and was a representative of the Student Council. "Boley" plans to be a professional football player. |
