Radio Broadcast
Our school broadcast over W.H.Y.N. this year featured "extra-curricular Activities in the Junior High School."
Because Metcalf has the most extensive program of extra-curricular activities in this Holyoke junior high system, our radio program covered a lot of territory in a most interesting manner.
Richard Wing, as narrator, took the listening audience on a tour through the halls of Metcalf. On this tour the listeners learned of our many activities by meeting the following pupils:
William Brooks, Assemblies; Caroline O'Neill, Metcalf News; Richard Stebbins, Metcalf Annual; Carolyn Platts, Dancing Classes; Joan Prych, Baton Classes; Lewis Green, Student Council; Judy Cain, Honor Society; Neil Sheehan, Orchestra; Nance Grandchamp, School Dances; James Lyle, Athletics;
Jewel Dobrowolski presented a very interesting summary in which she pointed out that extra - curricular activities at Metcalf make our school a miniature community complete with accessories. "Extra curricular activities," Jewel said, "do as much, if not more than regular class work, to prepare us for life in the adult world."
